Dr. Gong Shao lin
Chairman of the Board, Ph.D. in Economics

Dr. Gong has been the chairman of China Merchants Securities Co., Ltd. (CMS) since December 2001. He also currently sits on the Board of Directors of China Merchants Group, and is the Chairman of CMS Holdings (HK) and CMS Investment Management (HK), Chairman of HuaMei Capital Company, and the vice-chairman of China Mergers and Acquisitions Association.

Prior to this, Dr. Gong held positions in the People’s Bank of China Beijing branch and served as director, head of the office of Institutions of the People’s Bank of China, the secretary-general of General Office of PBC etc. and vice president of China Merchants Bank.

Dr.Gong is an adjunct professor at Southwestern University of Finance and Economics of China, where he obtained a Doctorate degree in Economics.

Hon. Adlai.E.Stevenson III
Board Member
Former United States Senator from 1970-1981, also served as Illinois Treasurer from 1967-1970.

Since leaving the Senate, Stevenson has been active in East Asia. Besides sitting in the board of HuaMei Capital Company, he also severs as Chairman of SC&M Investment Management Corporation, Co-Chairman of SMC Company, former Chairman, Japan America Society of Chicago, former Chairman, Midwest US Japan Association, former President US Committee of the Pacific Economic Cooperation Council, Co Chairman PECC Financial Market Development Project, Member of US-Korea Wisemen Council, Member, Board of Korean Economic Institute, Chairman, Midwest US China Association, as well as other business and not for profit capacities.

Stevenson honors include Order of the Sacred Treasurer from Government of Japan and Honorary Professor Renmin University, PR China.

Mr. Leo Melamed
Board Member
Mr. Leo Melamed is the a former chairman of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME), current board member of CME Group and chairman of the CME Group Foundation. He is a longtime executive in the field of global derivatives and he is globally recognized as the founder of financial futures.

At the close of 1999, Melamed was named by the former editor of the Chicago Tribune, among the ten most important Chicagoans in business of the 20th Century. Chicago Magazine included him among the century’s top 100 Chicagoans. In 2003, Pensions & Investments included Mr. Melamed in the list of 30 individuals whose contribution “made the most dramatic difference” in the management of money during the last 100 years.

Melamed, an attorney by trade, was named chairman of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange in 1969. In 1972, the CME under his leadership launched currency futures and created the International Monetary Market (IMM). During his time as chairman, the CME introduced a number of financial instruments, including futures on US Treasury Bills and Eurodollars. In 1982, the CME introduced the first stock index futures.

Twenty years after their inception, Nobel Laureate in Economics, Merton Miller, named financial futures as “the most significant innovation in the past two decades.” In 1987, Melamed spearheaded the introduction of Globex®, the world’s first futures electronic trading system, and became its founding chairman. The Chicago Mercantile Exchange, today known as the CME Group, is the world’s premier futures market, where Mr. Melamed serves as a member of the Board and is chairman of its Strategic Steering Committee.

In 1991 he founded his own consulting firm, Melamed & Associates, of which he is chairman and chief executive officer. He formerly was a member of the global markets advisory committee of the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission and he previously served on the board of directors of One Chicago, LLC, and an exchange for single-stock futures.

Mr. Melamed's memoirs Escape to the Futures have been translated and published in Chinese, Japanese, as well as Korean. Mr. Melamed is the recipient of many awards including the 2005 Fred Arditti Innovation Award of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.

Mr. Joseph Jolson
Board Member
Mr. Joseph Jolson is a founder and Chief Executive Officer of JMP Group, JMP Securities' parent company. He is a member of the executive committee of JMP Group and serves on its board of directors. In addition, he is Chief Executive Officer of JMP Asset Management and JMP Realty Trust.

Prior to founding JMP, Joe served as a Senior Managing Director and Senior Research Analyst in the financial services group at Montgomery Securities, now Banc of America Securities, for 15 years. Previously, he was a consulting research analyst at Fidelity Management and Research, in 1983 and 1984, and at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette, from 1980 through 1982.

Joe was named to Institutional Investor magazine's All-America Research Team for ten consecutive years, between 1986 and 1995, for his coverage of the savings and loan industry and was also selected as an All-Star Analyst by the Wall Street Journal in the financial services category in 1996 and 1997. Additionally, he was ranked as a top-five thrift analyst by Greenwich Associates every year from 1985 through 1994.

Joe received an MBA with distinction from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and a BA degree from Yale University.

Mr. Michael Tokarz
Board Member

Mr. Tokarz is a senior investment professional with over 30 years of lending and investment experience. Prior to assuming his position as Chairman and Portfolio Manager of the Fund, and prior to founding The Tokarz Group (in 2002), a private merchant bank of which he is Chairman, Mr. Tokarz was a General Partner with Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. (“KKR”), one of the world’s most experienced private equity firms. During his 17-year tenure at KKR, he participated in diverse leveraged buyouts, financings, restructurings and dispositions.

Mr. Tokarz currently serves on numerous corporate boards including Walter Industries, Inc., Stonewater Control Systems, Lomonsov, Athleta, Inc. and Apertio Ltd. In addition, Mr. Tokarz is on the Board of Managers of Illinois Ventures, a University of Illinois focused venture capital seed fund and high technology incubator, and is Chairman of a related private equity follow on investment fund.

Mr. Tokarz also serves on the Board of the University of Illinois Foundation and its Investment and Executive Committees, as well as Chairman of the Budget and Finance Committees.

Mrs.Yang Kun

Mrs. Yang had been the president of China Merchants Securities Co., Ltd. (CMS) since December 2003, and director of CMS since May 2004. She also serves as chairman of Bosera Asset Management Co, Ltd., vice-chairmanof CMS Holdings (HK), chairman of CMS Investment Management (HK), director of HuaMei Capital Company, vice chairman of the 4th Council of the Securities Association of China (SAC), member of the Council Board of the Shenzhen Stock Exchange, member of the Council Board of the Shanghai Stock Exchange and board member of the Red Cross Society of China.

Mrs.Yang served as an associated researcher of the International Financial Research Institution, Bank of China; associated researcher of economic research department of BOC (HK) Group; general manager of the Securities Department of China Merchants Bank; executive deputy manager of Shenzhen Zhongda Investment Co. Ltd; deputy manager of Changsheng Funds Management Co. Ltd; General Manager of Citic Funds Management Co. and the independent board member of China Merchants Bank.

Dr. Yu Weijia
Board Member, Ph.D. in Engineering
Dr. Yu is the executive vice president of China Merchants Securities Co., Ltd. (CMS) and had been vice-president of CMS since March 1999. He is in charge of investment banking, proprietary trading, institutional sales, fixed income and international business. He also serves as chairman of China Merchants Securities (HK) Co., Ltd., chairman of CMTF Asset Management Limited and chairman of CMS Asset Management (HK).

Dr. Yu is the Ph.D. in Engineering from the Tianjin University and the Senior Economist.

Dr. Shirley Deng
Board Member, Ph.D. in Economics
Dr. Deng has been the vice president of China Merchants Securities Co., Ltd. (CMS) since November 2005 and is in charge of risk management, finance, settlement and training. She also serves as director of CMS Holdings (HK), director of CMS Investment Management (HK), director of China Merchants Fund and director of HuaMei Capital Company.

Prior to joining CMS, Shirley was working for AT&T、Providian Financial、Citigroup, where she was the senior risk analyst in Citigroup.

Shirley obtained her Master Degree and Ph.D. in Economics from the State University of New York.

Mrs. Jing TIAN GUSSIN
President, Board Member
Ms. Jing Tian Gussin is the President and board member of HuaMei Capital Company; she also serves as the Chairman of JMP China Committee.

Prior to joining JMP China practice, Jing was a General Partner of Strategic Capital Group. Previously Jing was a vice president at Merrill Lynch private bank, and was a leading member of ML’s China-US investment banking team from 1999-2005. Before coming to US, Jing was a member of China Science & Technology Association in Beijing.

Jing has 13 years of China Central government and 20 years of US Finance Experiences. She has advised 46 China companies in crossing (China-US) M&A, Private placement, Restructuring, and IPO transactions totaling more than $5 billion in value.
